When you are a new player on SuperDraft, it can be easy to get seduced by the big contests with big payouts. It is understandable because who doesn’t want to win thousands of dollars right? The issue is, if you are a new player, those contests are harder to win cash in. This is why we have 50/50 contests. By entering these contests you give yourself a GREAT chance to win some cash right off the bat! Wanna learn more? Let’s break down what a 50/50 contest is!

What is a 50/50 contest?

A 50/50 contest is a contest that pays out players that finish in the top half of the standings. Take a look at the example below:

You can see this 50/50 contest has 50 entries in it. So it will pay out the Top 25 lineups as 25 is half of 50. Every player in the top 25 will receive the same cash prize and SuperDraft takes a 5% rake with this contest so that is why the payout is $38 instead of $40. Another note about 50/50 contests is the fact that they are single-entry contests. This means you can only insert one lineup into this contest. Now that you know what a 50/50 contest is, let’s discuss why this is good for you!

Why are 50/50’s the best contests for beginners?

The big reason is half of the entries win cash. Compare this to other contest formats, not nearly as much of the field wins as they do in the 50/50’s. This does not even take into account if the contest does not fill. If the contest does not fill, you could still finish in the bottom half of the field and win! Another reason is there is no pressure to land at the top of the contest. You can win just as much finishing 25th as you do in 1st! This makes for a great experience when you are just starting out. Finally, it takes away the DFS sharks’ greatest weapon and that is using multiple lineups. With everyone putting in one lineup, it evens out the playing field. So what are you waiting for? Go to our lobby, find a 50/50 and start winning!
