Monday Night Football in Week 4 features a battle between two high-octane AFC offenses, as the Raiders make their second prime-time appearance of the season and head to Los Angeles to take on Justin Herbert and the Chargers.
As I do every Monday, I have provided my top three options for the single-game slate on SuperDraft DFS below.
Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (1.3x score multiplier)
Ekeler has come alive over the last two weeks, averaging 17.5 touches (10 rushing attempts, 7.5 receptions per game) and 111 total yards per game over that span while adding a receiving touchdown. He’s seen a significant spike in snap count week over week, going from 58% to 63% to 74% through the first three weeks. He is on a trajectory to operate as one of the top options in the Chargers offensive attack.
The Raiders have given up a lot of points, but have especially been susceptible on the ground. This primes Ekeler for another big game. His touchdown equity and his ability to receive 20 total opportunities on both runs and passes makes him a great target with a 1.3x multiplier.
Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers (1.4x)
Going overlooked thanks to Mike Williams’ breakout, Allen is another Charger I will have heavy exposure to Monday night. His 1.4x score multiplier is high compared to what we were used to last season when he was typically between 1.15-1.25x.
Despite Williams’ emergence, Allen still leads the Chargers in overall target share (27.69%, 36 total targets) as well as red-zone targets (33.33% target share, nine targets). His matchup with Nate Hobbs is not one to get extremely excited about. However, Hobbs has shown that he can be attacked, allowing an 83% catch rate so far this season. Given his target share, you can’t ignore the floor and ceiling that Allen brings to the table with his multiplier.
Henry Ruggs, WR, Las Vegas Raiders (2x)
Single-game slates require you to take risks if you want to differentiate your lineup, and that’s where Ruggs comes in. Viewed solely as a make-or-break deep threat in 2020, Ruggs has seen his target share steadily grow week-over-week this season. Much of this can be attributed to the extra defensive attention on Darren Waller over the last two weeks. Ruggs has seen seven targets in each of his last two games. He’s averaged over 19 yards per catch in each of those two games, averaging 85.5 yards per game with one touchdown over that span.
His matchup with Asante Samuel Jr. (67% catch rate allowed) isn’t one to feel one way nor the other about, so getting Ruggs’ game-breaking upside at a 2x multiplier is an insane GPP value. I wouldn’t feel confident with him in the champion spot, but all it takes is one 40-yard touchdown to put 21 points on the board on a single play with his multiplier.
