We’re back again picking out our favorite NFL picks for Week 2 on SuperDraft. We have another 13-game slate Sunday with some juicy matchups and stacks to get in on.
Let us dive in on every position for the top plays.
Top quarterbacks
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (1.15x score multiplier)
There are going to be a lot of good quarterback plays Sunday. In my opinion, the favorite is going to be Herbert against the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys took a big hit to their pass-rushing game with DeMarcus Lawrence being ruled out with a broken foot. Herbert should be able to feed his receivers easily. He has plenty of weapons that are eyeing mixed matchups. He threw for 337 yards and one touchdown and one interception against the Washington Football Team. We are expecting the Chargers to mirror what Brady and the Bucs did to the Cowboys.
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (1.3x)
This one hurts me to type up since it’s against my San Francisco 49ers, but it’s a good spot for Hurts and this Eagles offense. Hurts is coming off a 28.76-fantasy-point game against Atlanta in Week 1 and now gets to face a secondary that may have been exposed by Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. Additionally, that secondary got even worse when cornerback Jason Verrett was lost for the season. Hurts also possesses versatility in his game as he can run, racking up fantasy points two different ways.
Top running backs
Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns (1.2x)
The Browns host the Houston Texans this week in what should be a good spot for Chubb on the ground. Chubb played a huge factor in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a dominant first-half performance. He finished the game with 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Now, Houston did allow just 76 rushing yards Week 1, but it was against the Jacksonville Jaguars and a nonexistent running back group.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (1.45x)
I will once again be running it back with Najee Harris as the rookie gets to go against a Las Vegas Raiders defense that probably couldn’t have stopped a snail in Week 1. The main thing to note with Harris is that he was in on every snap for the Pittsburgh Steelers and overall, that game against the Buffalo Bills was a very slow-paced offensive game. Meanwhile, the Raiders allowed 189 yards on the ground alone Monday night against the Ravens. This is a perfect matchup for the young rookie to build confidence and explode against a weak defense.
Top wide receivers
DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles (1.5x)
Smith and Hurts will probably be one of my main stacks Sunday. Smith put on a huge debut with his old college teammate as he was targeted eight times in Week 1. He went for 71 receiving yards and one touchdown, ending his day with 16.1 fantasy points. Using the FTNFantasy Advanced WR vs. CB Matchup tool, Smith also has the best matchup of the Eagles’ three primary receivers.
Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals (1.5x)
The Chicago Bears are coming off of a game where they allowed 312 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air and now have to face the Bengals. We can play the narrative of Higgins changing his jersey number to 5 or just appreciate that he is in a good matchup. He was targeted just five times in Week 1 for 58 yards and one touchdown. The “downside” here is that Ja’Marr Chase will get some attention but he’s also in a more difficult match-up for the game.
Top tight ends
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders (1x)
It’s hard to pass up on any player who was targeted 19 times in Week 1, even if his multiplier is 1x. Waller was and will remain to be the most targeted player in the Raiders offense, with league-leading target potential. He was able to catch 10 of his 19 Week 1 targets, going for 105 receiving yards and one touchdown. The Raiders will most likely be playing in a shootout once again against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I won’t be passing up on this opportunity.
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints (1.65x)
There are multiple plays at tight end that remain appealing but FTN’s own Derek Brown‘s love for Johnson before the season started paid off very quickly. Johnson didn’t have an over-the-top stat line, but Jameis Winston loved him in the red zone as he went for two touchdowns on three targets (catching all three). Now, Carolina’s defense was pretty good against the Jets in Week 1, allowing just 207 passing yards, but this New Orleans Saints offense is going to be something different for them in Week 2.
