For hardcore golf fans, there is not a better way to start the new PGA season by celebrating the victors of the previous year. The Tournament Of Champions has been a tradition for 53 years where all of the golfers who won a tournament on the tour the previous year face off in this season opening tourney. This tournament takes place in Kapalua, Hawaii on the Par 73 Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort.

There are several appealing players to insert into your lineup for this contest. However, with there being no cuts in this tournament, the players with the higher multipliers gain value. With that being said, here are four players that should be locked into your lineup come Thursday morning:

Dustin Johnson (1.2x)

Dustin Johnson certainly did not end 2019 the way he would have liked to. In his last eight events, he failed to get higher than 20th place. As it turns out, it was a knee injury that was slowing him down. He got surgery after the tour championship ended in August and he is now back healthy and ready to start 2020 right.

Johnson is currently ranked fourth in the official world golf rankings and is tied with Xander Schauffle for the third best odds to win this tournament at +800. When he is right, there are not many golfers on the planet better than him. When you include his multiplier to his fantasy points per event number, he leads all golfers with an average of 87.3 fantasy points per event. With there being no cuts in this tournament and Johnson is a steal at 1.2x.

Brendon Todd (1.15x)

After a brutal stretch from 9/2/19-10/6/19 where he missed the cut in four of the five events and placed in 67th, he has been as hot as any golfer on the tour since. In his last four tournaments, he has finished 28th, first, first and fourth. In addition to this hot streak, he has some good history on his side as well. He played this event and finished tied eighth in 2015. Combine his hot streak and his past success on this course, he is great value play at 1.15x.

Collin Morikawa (1.05x)

The Tournament of champions has been known as a tournament to give the younger players a great opportunity to show that they belong. There are a few rookies competing in this tournament including Matthew Wolff. The rookie you should put in your lineups though is Collin Morikawa. In 2019, The 22 year old finished in the top 15 five times in 13 events and also had three finishes in the top four. He is poised to show out in this event and start off 2020 by proving himself even more than he already has. He has the ninth best odds to win this tournament at +2200 and with the motivation to prove himself, he should be a lock to be in your lineup even at a multiplier of 1.05x.

Jon Rahm (1x)

I said in the beginning that you would want to consider players with higher multipliers in this tournament. An exception can be made here for Jon Rahm. There is no one hotter in golf right now than the third-ranked player in the world. Since June 16th, Rahm has played in 12 events and he has finished in the top five a whopping eight times. Including three wins and two second-place finishes. This level of consistency he has shown is what makes him the favorite to win the tournament and a secure spot in your lineup. He is averaging 80.1 fantasy points per event which is the highest number in the draft group for this tournament. While it is still true that the focus should be on the higher multiplier players for this event, Rahm is too good to ignore even at 1x.
