Week 8 of the NFL season is here, and we get a 12-game SuperDraft DFS slate Sunday. Let’s dive in and see who the best plays are for every position.

Top Quarterbacks
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (1.1x score multiplier)
I will continue running back to Stafford like I do with Derrick Henry on any slate. While the multiplier isn’t there, this Rams offense is a passing machine and their opponents (the Texans) allow the sixth-most points to the position. Stafford’s passing attempts have been spread out over the first eight weeks of the season, but he’s averaging nearly three touchdowns and I will take that against this Houston defense.
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (1.2x)
It’s a similar situation for Hurts and this Eagles offense, as they are facing the Detroit Lions, who give up 20.5 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Hurts is the dual-threat quarterback we love to target, as he can hurt a defense by throwing or running. He had a somewhat lackluster game against the Raiders last week, but he still threw for 236 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 61 yards. He most likely will bring in some ownership due to who they are facing, but it’s hard to pass him up.
Top Running Backs
Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals (1.35x)
Mixon can turn a heck of a play, into as he gets to face a New York Jets defense that was just burned by a running back duo in Week 7. While Mixon hasn’t had a consistent fantasy season, in a similar matchup against the Lions he went off for 94 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards and a touchdown. A similar output could happen this Sunday, although if the game does get out of hand, the gamescript may not benefit Mixon in the long run.
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (1.4x)
One of my favorite running back plays of the season is back from a bye week with a slightly difficult matchup versus the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are only allowing 16.3 fantasy points to the running back position, but the good thing for Harris is that he is utilized heavily in the passing game, and that’s where the Browns lack. While the rushing yards may not be there this Sunday, Ben Roethlisberger loves his running back and will do anything to get him the ball. After the huge 19 receiving targets in Week 3, Harris has had 7, 5 and 7 targets before the bye week. With many other backs on the slate, I want a heavy piece of Najee Harris.
This is the one week where I think fading Derrick Henry is the smart thing to do with his match-up. Could easily bite me in the butt, but I’m going for it.
Top Wide Receivers
Cooper Kupp, Houston Texans (1x)
If you are rolling out Stafford, pairing him with Kupp may be the route. Kupp is coming off back-to-back games of 30-plus fantasy points. While Van Jefferson and Robert Woods will have difficult matchups, Kupp has a great one, per the FTN Daily WR/CB tool. Pairing two players with a tiny multiplier will be risky, but the upside this Rams duo have is worth the risk.
A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans (1.4x)
Thanks to a rough patch on the season, Brown comes in with a great multiplier at 1.4x versus the Indianapolis Colts. After three straight low-scoring results and an injury battle, Brown has bounced back as he scored 12.6 and 25.3 fantasy points back-to-back. While the matchups on paper aren’t great, if the Colts do slow down Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill will be looking at his most trusted target Brown once again. He had nine targets in Week 8 for 133 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Top Tight Ends
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams (1.35x)
I’m not the biggest fan of Higbee, but I am a fan of targeting the Houston Texans against tight ends, as they give up the fourth-most points to the position. Higbee has yet to have “the game,” but he is coming off a solid performance versus the Detroit Lions. The main issue with him is that he can’t seem to find the end zone.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles (1.05x)
The Lions don’t give up many points to the tight end position, but Goedert is now the only relevant tight end in Philly. In his first game without Zach Ertz on the team, he recorded three catches for 70 receiving yards and finished with 8.5 fantasy points. If the Eagles can come out hot and carry momentum against this Lions defense, Goedert could be in line for a similar stat line or even better. Just like Higbee, he also has only found the end zone twice this season, but all it takes is one score to put him over the top and most likely at a lower ownership than other plays on the slate.
