The Minnesota Vikings will be hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night to kick off Week 14 of the NFL season. The Vikings will be without Adam Thielen, though it sounds like the team will get Dalvin Cook back. Oddsmakers still have them winning by a field goal.
Let’s dive in and see who we should prioritize as top DFS plays on SuperDraft.
The Plays
Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings (Champion: 2.05x score multiplier | Superflex: 1.35x)
Obviously, there’s a big question here, with news Thursday that Cook’s shoulder has improved and he is going to try to play. Whichever running back gets the most run will be in a great position, as the Steelers defense gives up 22.8 fantasy points per game to the position. Mattison had 22 carries for 90 rushing yards and a touchdown last week, adding 3 receptions for 34 yards. He finished his day off with 19.9 fantasy points. In the three games he has started, Mattison has rushed for more than 100 yards twice. The key thing with the Cook situation is that, if Cook does return, Mattison’s roster percentage will drop significantly, which would make him a great pivot, especially if Cook has a setback or isn’t 100%.
Chase Claypool, Pittsburgh Steeler (Champion: 2.45x | Superflex: 1.65x)
Claypool comes into this matchup with an uptick in targets and a great matchup. The Minnesota Vikings defense is currently giving up 36.4 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position. He is currently averaging 66 receiving yards per game with a 54% catch rate. He has only dropped below five targets once this season but was still able to put up over 52 yards in that game.
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings (Champion: 1.75x| Superflex: 1.15x)
Jefferson is coming off a monstrous game last week, with 11 receptions for 182 receiving yards and a touchdown. That’s his third game with at least 8 receptions and 140 yards in the last four weeks. He may just do it again here, as the Steelers also struggle against receivers to the tune of 30.4 fantasy points per game to the position. Jefferson is averaging 6.5 receptions and 100.8 receiving yards per game. Plus, Jefferson gets the boost with Adam Thielen already being ruled out.
