While Thursday Night Football (and all of the primetime games so far) have been as entertaining as we could’ve hoped for, Week 4’s TNF game could be the opposite, as a Cincinnati Bengals/Jacksonville Jaguars matchup aligns more with the theme that has followed TNF over the years of bad teams in boring games.
Even so, there’s a ton of upside from a DFS perspective and money to win on SuperDraft.
Below are my top three options for the TNF slate on SuperDraft DFS.
Ja’Marr Chase (1.3x score multiplier)
Chase has been a game-breaker through the first three weeks of the season, logging four total touchdowns while leading the team with 264 air yards, nearly double the next-closest wide receiver, Tee Higgins (138).
The game-breaking upside is exactly what you want to target on a site with 0.5-point PPR, as the volume receivers are weighted as heavily, giving the quality targets (throws over 20 yards, touchdowns, red zone, etc.) more importance. Chase still saw a reasonable boost in target share in Week 3 without Higgins, too, attracting five of Joe Burrow’s 19 targets. In a game that should be a bit more voluminous, expect another big one from Chase.
Marvin Jones Jr. (1.6x)
Similar to Chase, Jones has plenty of home-run upside, but his volume early in the season is the main reason for attraction given his rapport with Trevor Lawrence. Through three games this season, Jones leads the Jaguars with a 24.79% target share, over 5% higher than the next-closest receiver, D.J. Chark (19.66%).
He’s added a pair of receiving touchdowns and also leads the team in red-zone target share (57.14%), showcasing his combination of volume security as well as an upside. Against a beatable Bengals’ secondary, Jones should be in for another busy day with a very generous multiplier.
Joe Mixon (1.1x)
Mixon’s 1.1x multiplier is concerning, but the volume here is what attracts me. He’s logged at least 18 carries in every game so far this season, averaging just over 22 per game, and has a complete stranglehold on the backfield usage.
On top of his usage, Mixon draws a matchup with a Jaguars team that has already allowed five rushing touchdowns (all inside the five-yard-line) and 347 rushing yards through three games. As a home favorite, Mixon has a great chance at a ceiling game Thursday night.
