There are eight games on the NHL DFS slate Tuesday, so there are plenty of strong options at SuperDraft. The slate gets underway at 7 p.m. ET. It’s more important than ever to keep an eye on news at this time of the season. We’ve seen several players get scratched late, so have a close eye on things. If you have any questions, reach out @chrismeaney.

Below you’ll see a few of my top plays at each position followed by a few others to consider at SuperDraft. Most of my attention tonight will be on the Dallas Stars as they have a matchup against the league-worst Montreal Canadiens and the Habs placed a couple more players into COVID-19 protocol today. They also lost to the second-worst team in the league yesterday. I’m also interested in the Ottawa Senators’ top line as they’ve scored 10 goals in their past two games, followed by the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Center

Josh Norris, Ottawa Senators vs. BUF (2x)

Norris has a cool 16 goals and 24 points in 30 games. There have been zero signs of a sophomore slump — he’s averaging nearly three more minutes per game (18:52) in Year 2 in the league. He has eight goals in his last 10 games and 14 points in his last 15 games. The Sabres have allowed 3.15 GA/60 at 5V5 (fourth highest) over the last two months of the season. They also rank inside the top 10 in scoring chances and high-danger chances allowed over that time frame. Norris, Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk make for a strong trio.

Others to consider: Joe Pavelski, Brayden Point, Aleksander Barkov, Mathew Barzal, Patrice Bergeron

Winger

Roope Hintz, Dallas Stars vs. MTL (1.75x)

Hintz had zero goals and one point in his first eight games of the season. He has 15 goals and 26 points over his last 25 games. He has two goals and five points in 16 road games compared to 13 goals and 22 points in 17 games at home. He’s racked up nine points in his last eight games. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens have allowed the most shots and scoring chances at 5v5/60 since November 18th, according to Natural Stat Trick. They’re also on the second half of a back-to-back as they lost in Arizona. 21 of their league-high 30 losses have been by at least two goals.

Sam Bennett, Florida Panthers @ CGY (2x)

You have to love the 2x with Bennett, who has four goals in his last two games and six in his past four. I’m also buying into the revenge narrative as he makes his return to Calgary. Bennett had four goals, 12 points and zero power play points in 13 minutes per game in 38 games with CGY last season. In 39 regular season games with the Panthers, Bennett has 21 goals, 38 points, eight power play points and he’s averaging 18 minutes of ice time per game. The Panthers have won eight of their past nine games and they’ve outscored their opponents 54-24 over that span, which includes a 6-2 win against Calgary. The Flames have surrendered a league-high 4.37 GA/6 at 5v5 over the last month and 2.7 over the last two months (10th highest).

Others to consider: Nikita Kucherov, Jonathan Huberdeau, Brady Tkachuk, Drake Batherson, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Kyle Connor, Anders Lee

Defense

Aaron Ekblad, Florida Panthers @ CGY (1.7x)

Ekblad is too hard to ignore given how hot the Panthers have been and the fact you’re getting a 1.7x. Ekblad ranks among the leaders in ice time and he’s produced 10 goals and 35 points. He has three three-point games over his last five games and he has 11 points over his past eight contests.

Others to consider: Thomas Chabot, Noah Dobson, John Klingberg, Victor Hedman, Roman Josi, Charlie McAvoy

Goalie

Semyon Varlamov, New York Islanders @ PHI (2x)

Varlamov’s expected to get the start in the rubber match in Philadelphia. The Iles handed the Flyers their eighth straight loss last night 4-1. New York has won four of its past five games and Varlamov has only allowed one goal in each of his last three games. He turned aside 110 of 113 shots over that span.

Goalies to consider: Jake Oettinger, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Thatcher Demko
