Urquidy was dicing Braves hitters in the World Series game 2. Here's his DFS wrapup

This has been a very entertaining MLB postseason, and Game 2 of the World Series was no different. Let’s check out how we did on SuperDraft Wednesday, starting with the players I had my eye on most.

Pitchers

I didn’t have much interest in either pitcher in this game, and it did not turn out in my favor with one of them. Max Fried carried too much risk with just a 1x multiplier. He did strike out six Astros but also gave up seven hits and six earned runs over five innings to total just 6.0 fantasy points. José Urquidy on the other hand had a more enticing multiplier at 1.6x (2.4x in the Champion spot). The Champion spot is where you wanted him because he racked up seven strikeouts over five innings while allowing two earned runs and six hits. His outing produced 50.4 fantasy points in the Champion spot. The Braves missed quite a few hittable pitches while Urquidy benefitted from questionable strike calls in my opinion.

Hitters

Most of my hitters disappointed as well. Freddie Freeman was the best of the bunch with just an RBI single, good enough for 12 points in the Champion spot thanks to a 2.4x multiplier. Austin Riley also recorded a single, but that was all he would produce at the plate, scoring just 3.5 fantasy points. Adam Duvall put the ball in play every at-bat, but unfortunately was unable to reach base, giving us a goose egg. Alex Bregman drove in a run in the first inning with a sacrifice fly but was unable to do anything after that scoring 6.2 points. I briefly mentioned Yordan Alvarez and Yuli Gurriel. I wanted to give Gurriel a full writeup but the article was already long, so he only got a brief mention. But he was the best of all the hitters I mentioned, scoring 24.73 points thanks to a 2.15x multiplier.

Slate Overview

The game going the complete opposite way from my game script is essentially what happened. Urquidy struck out the side in the first thanks to some generous calls from the home plate umpire and some missed opportunities from the Braves. If they don’t miss the pitches over the heart of the plate it could have been a very different story. José Altuve was the highest-scoring hitter on the slate and the optimal Champion scoring 56 points in that spot with a 2.8x multiplier.
