As I do every Wednesday, I’m back to wrap up my MLB SuperDraft picks from the Tuesday slate, including my top two pitchers and some of my favorite hitters of the night.
In this article, I’ll be recapping what happened Tuesday and reviewing how the picks and plays did. It was a rather exciting night of games with plenty of runs and a few solid pitching options.
Let’s take a look at how we did last night.
The Review
Pitching
Overall, the strategy of using a pitcher in the CHP slot would still have been the optimal strategy. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t Gerrit Cole, as he got lit up early and often. Cole only made it through two innings and was a massive bust, but even if you played him in for superflex he was still better than a few of the hitting options who produced 0.
Nathan Eovaldi was good, great even especially considering the circumstance as he went 5.1 innings and struck out 8.
Hitting
Before going out, he did give up a HR to our top hitter of the night, Anthony Rizzo, which was very good for the quality of the picks.
Gleyber Torres was also listed as a top play, and he did a bunch of nothing. He produced 0 points despite batting in the middle of this Yankees lineup.
Kyle Schwarber and Rafael Devers were my top Red Sox hitters of the night. Schwarber hit a bomb off Cole early, and Devers just missed a HR later in the game, but was still able to capitalize on some points by walking twice and scoring a run.
Overall, a fairly average night. Being on Rizzo and Schwarber really helped but it was the Red Sox-heavy lineups led by Xander Bogaerts and Alex Verdugo that led the night.
