Week 2 of the college football season kicks off Friday night and gets into gear with a full slate on Saturday. Last week brought excitement, and as importantly, gave us new information to utilize when building our SuperDraft lineups.

The Picks

QB

At quarterback, the best value on the board for Week 2 is Penn State’s Sean Clifford (1.2X score multiplier). Clifford creates big plays as a passer and can scramble for scores with decent speed. His matchup against Ball State is as favorable as anyone’s this week.

We’re also looking at Notre Dame’s Jack Coan (1X) as a superflex or quarterback option. We lose the multiplier for the top passer this week, but Coan set Florida State on fire with four touchdowns last week. Chances are high he’ll have a similar output this week and justify forfeiting the multiplier.

RB

We have an array of options at running back. Texas A&M star Isaiah Spiller (1.25X) is a must-play considering the volume of work he always gets. His explosiveness is second to none in the nation, and Colorado won’t contain him. Getting any type of multiplier on Spiller is a unique opportunity.

Iowa’s Tyler Goodson (1.15X) also has a good opportunity to outperform his standing. The Iowa State defense is good, but the Hawkeyes seemingly run on everyone regardless of talent and scheme. Few teams are as reliant on the ground game than Iowa, and this is an opportunity to nab one of the nation’s best rushers with a slight but impactful multiplier.

Receivers

The receiving positions are stacked. We have to select three on a deep slate. Balancing premier talent with a great multiplier is a tough challenge.

The Big Ten combination of Ohio State’s Chris Olave (1.1X) and Penn State’s Jahar Dotson (1.15X) are excellent plays due to their insane speed and production. Each team has shown a major dependence on each to trust they’ll be well fed and big threats to score multiple times in Week 2. Sometimes it’s less about volume than it is about overall talent when the playmakers are that good, and these two certainly qualify.

Our big swing for the week is Ball State’s Yo’Heinz Tyler (1.7X). Ball State is a capable passing team that opted to run more in Week 1 but will ramp up the offense against Penn State. That means a lot of targets will go to their star, Heinz. His multiplier could push him towards the top of the scoring leaderboard for the week.

Analysis

Overall, Week 2 has premier matchups between Oregon at Ohio State and Iowa at Iowa State, and a slew of interesting other games that go beyond the rankings.

As always, we have you covered for every slate, every weekend. We’ll continue to project the top matchups and producers across the nation to help you profit in your SuperDraft contests.
