SuperDraft is one of the hottest platforms in the market for DFS players. SuperDraft offers a unique twist on your traditional DFS experience with game modes like “Multiplier” and “Super 15.”
This article will focus on daily plays from SuperDraft’s exclusive Multiplier game mode. By eliminating the traditional salary cap structure and providing a points multiplier for every player on the slate, there is almost limitless flexibility when building lineups on SuperDraft. You can load up on all the studs, but their point multipliers will be low. You can balance those plays out with some long shots that could score up to 2x their fantasy points to vault you to the top of the leaderboards.
As always with NBA DFS, make sure that you are on top of any late breaking injury news and starting lineup changes. With nine games on tonight’s NBA slate, let’s get into some of the Multiplier plays on SuperDraft.
Guard
Davion Mitchell (1.6x)
The Kings, after making “win now” moves at the trade deadline, have gone into full tank mode. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are both likely to miss the rest of the season and Richaun Holmes is away from the team because of child abuse allegations. Sacramento is more than happy to let their lottery pick from last summer’s draft run wild for the remaining three weeks of the regular season, and we’ve seen that play out over the Kings last five games. Over that span Mitchell is averaging 0.96 SuperDraft points per minute and 38.6 minutes per game with a 23.8% usage rate and 26.1% assist rate. Those numbers don’t jump off the page from an efficiency standpoint, but the minutes and multiplier combo are too good to pass up. The matchup against the Heat is tough and the Kings are 12.5-point road underdogs, but Mitchell’s minutes are seemingly secure enough to prioritize him in cash and have him in your top options in GPPs on this slate.
Tre Mann (1.75x)
The Thunder have done us a huge favor and let us know that Shai Gilgeous Alexander will be out tonight against the Blazers. This game tips off two hours after the rest of the games on the slate and it was going to be a giant headache if we didn’t have the news in a timely fashion. With SGA sitting again, we’ll look to a number of active Thunder for value and Mann assumes the priority spot at guard. In 258 minutes without SGA, Josh Giddey, Lu Dort and Kenrich Williams on the floor this season Mann has a 29.8% usage rate, an increase of 7.5% on his season rate. The Thunder are favored in this game (you can count on one hand the number of times that’s happened this season) and we should see Mann play full minutes and shoot 20 or more times. At his 1.75x multiplier I slightly prefer him to teammate Theo Maledon who is at the 2x multiplier ceiling. If you wanted to opt for Maledon (29% usage in three games without SGA, Giddey, Dory and Williams) instead I wouldn’t call you crazy.
Forward
Aleksej Pokusevski (1.75x)
Sticking with the Thunder but talking frontcourt options, my priority is the second year “unicorn” out of Serbia. Standing at 7’0” with a 7’3” wingspan, if you haven’t watched Poku before I would suggest you catch a few minutes of this one. He can play all five positions to various degrees and is just about the only reason to turn this game on tonight. He’s been getting fairly steady minutes for this team over the last few weeks and over the last five he’s averaged 34.4 SuperDraft points per game and 1.09 SuperDraft points per minute. Those are all great numbers at his 1.75x multiplier but the Thunder also listed Darius Bazley as doubtful with a knee sprain, and with Bazley off the court in addition to the other important absences over the last five games Poku sees a usage increase to 26.3%. You’ll have the opportunity to roster Isaiah Roby who has been great over the last few games from a fantasy standpoint, but Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is off the injury report for the first time since late January and he could throw a wrench into Roby’s upside. At the time of this writing, Poku is the clear frontcourt target.
Daniel Theis (2x)
The Celtics will punt this game after taking over first place in the Eastern Conference with a massive win over the Timberwolves yesterday. Boston will be without Al Horford, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown against the frisky Toronto Raptors tonight. They also lost Robert Williams to a torn meniscus, which will affect not just the DFS slate this evening but the Eastern Conference playoff landscape, at least through the first round. With four of their five starters out, the Celtics will provide a lot of value for NBA DFS players. Marcus Smart, Derrick White and Payton Pritchard will all take on elevated roles in the backcourt, but the frontcourt is where I would prioritize my interest. With Horford and Williams out, Daniel Theis will play the majority of the center minutes here. Theis has actually been quite good over the last five games from a fantasy standpoint, averaging 1.15 SuperDraft points per minute. At his 2x multiplier and projecting for minutes into the high 20’s, Theis is a value priority for me given his forward eligibility.
Center
Nikola Jokic (1x)
I know you’re shocked to see Jokic occupy this spot again, and now that I’ve got my routine sarcastic Jokic blurb intro out of the way, it’s likely a better use of our time to mention some other options for GPPs as long as you understand to lock Jokic into your cash lineups. If you’re trying to get different in tournaments, I don’t hate taking some shots on guys like Jakob Poeltl (1.35x) against the lowly Rockets, Alperen Sengun (1.75x) on the other side of that game with Christian Wood questionable, or Damion Jones (2x) who should continue to start for the Kings albeit in a tough matchup against the Heat. All of those options would make my MME player pool in GPPs tonight, but just to reiterate, Jokic at his 1x floor multiplier still projects as the best center-only play on the slate against the Hornets and their fantasy friendly frontcourt defense.
