COVID-19 continues to ravage the NBA, as Tuesday’s five-game DFS slate featured fill-in players galore.

Rostership was rather condensed on this slate, focusing on the Knicks, who were left with just Alec Burks, Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker in the backcourt, as well as the Mavericks. Without Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis, the Mavs kept it close enough with the Wolves to allow all of their value pieces to come through.

Below is a recap of the players provided in our SuperDraft top plays for Tuesday.

The Review

Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons (1.3x score multiplier)

Cunningham has been one of the most inconsistent players to roster this season. He goes from extreme highs to extreme lows on a nightly basis. Tuesday was somewhere in the middle but gravitated closer to those lows. Finishing with only seven points, he rode his eight assists and nine rebounds to a minor salvage but didn’t come close to what managers had hoped when rostering him.

Jaylen Nowell, Minnesota Timberwolves (2.0x)

Coming in as one of the better value plays on the slate given how thin the Wolves’ backcourt is, Nowell did virtually everything in his power to tank lineups. Finishing with eight points, one rebound and one steal, you were fighting an uphill battle if you rostered Nowell Tuesday.

Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans (1.25x)

Ingram continued his productive stretch for the Pelicans. He posted a gaudy 28-point, eight-assist, eight-rebound near-triple-double in a 14-point loss to the Wolves. Getting him at 1.25x was a screaming value given his recent play. Factor in the lack of popularity for him on this slate, he was a gem.

Tim Hardaway Jr., Dallas Mavericks (1.6x)

Hardaway was ruled out Tuesday morning.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves (1.1x)

With few “spend-ups” on the slate, Towns was popular. He rewarded that popularity by being the highest raw scoring player on the slate. On the back of 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, Towns neared a triple-double en route to a massive game to anchor winning lineups.

Deandre Ayton, Phoenix Suns (1.25x)

If you faded Towns, it was likely for Ayton, as his 1.25x multiplier was far from representative of his current production. Even with Devin Booker back and a game that got out of hand in the second half, Ayton was productive en route to a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double.
