Tuesday had five games on the NBA DFS slate and featured some really good basketball.

The first two games on the slate featured an Eastern Conference battle between the Knicks and Nets. It came down to the wire, with the Nets pulling out a one-score win in the final seconds on the back of James Harden’s monster performance. The second early game featured the Raptors and Grizzlies, a rather uneventful game from a real basketball standpoint, but an important one from a DFS angle.

The nightcap brought us a trio of games, with the Lakers coming back and knocking off the Kings, the Blazers blowing out the Pistons, and the Warriors dropping to the Suns to mark Phoenix’s 17th straight win.

Recap

Alec Burks, New York Knicks (1.65x score multiplier)

After solidifying a permanent role (for the time being) as the Knicks’ starting point guard, Burks immediately turned in a noteworthy performance Tuesday. Posting 25 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals with a block, Burks ended up as the highest-scoring player on the SuperDraft slate once the multiplier kicked in. Finishing with 80.44 points at only 19.8% rostered, he was a staple in winning lineups in the Jump Shot.

Tyus Jones, Memphis Grizzlies (1.7x)

Jones drew his second consecutive start for the Grizzlies in the absence of Ja Morant, but he delivered his second consecutive underwhelming performance. Buoyed by a trio of steals, Jones posted 23.75 fantasy points prior to his 1.7x multiplier, finishing with 40.38 after it kicked in. He was a passable value, but certainly not as valuable as Burks or Anfernee Simons at the guard position.

Dillon Brooks, Memphis Grizzlies (1.4x)

With a 32% usage rate last game without Ja Morant and a 28% usage rate over the last year in games without Ja Morant, it was relatively surprising to see Brooks come in at only 10.7% rostered in the Jump Shot. The volume on Tuesday was there, as he attempted 17 shots from the field and played over 30 minutes. The efficiency, however, was not. Making only five of his 17 attempts, Brooks finished with 34 fantasy points, equating to 47.60 after his 1.4x multiplier. A good, but not great play, Brooks at least helped keep your lineup afloat Tuesday.

Precious Achiuwa, Toronto Raptors (1.75x)

Precious was one of the most popular players coming into the slate given the number of minutes he was walking into with a great multiplier. Unfortunately, things did not go as the masses had hoped, as Achiuwa only mustered five points and five rebounds. Posting only 17.94 points at 38.6% roster percentage in the Jump Shot, Achiuwa was nothing short of a landmine Tuesday.

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers (1x)

With the late-afternoon update that LeBron James was going to be sidelined for the Tuesday game, Davis picked up some steam as we approached lock, getting up to 41.8% owned in the Jump Shot. He didn’t post any groundbreaking output, logging 25 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals/blocks, finishing with 49.25 points. With no multiplier, he wasn’t necessarily a necessity in lineups, but he was by far one of the most popular studs in winning lineups given the lack of ceiling games we saw from high-priced players.

Jusuf Nurkic, Portland Trail Blazers (1.35x)

Nurkic clocked in as a popular option in the absence of both Damian Lillard and Norman Powell. Given his per-minute production over the last handful of games, it made total sense. He maintained elite per-minute production Tuesday, but the minutes were capped because of the blowout. That said, finishing with 46.58 SuperDraft points at 61.6% ownership was more than an acceptable outcome, just not one that would put your lineup over the top.
