Tuesday had four games on the NBA DFS slate, and what an ugly slate it was.
The slate started with the Pistons/Heat, with Detroit leading for the vast majority of the game. At the end of the day, the Heat’s talent and experience willed them to a win over the cellar-dwelling Pistons. The rest of the slate saw the Lakers drop an away game in Madison Square Garden without LeBron James, as well as the Blazers topping the Nuggets without Nikola Jokic and the Mavs pulling out an overtime win on the road.
Below is a recap of the players provided in our SuperDraft top plays for Tuesday.
Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Lakers (1.1x score multiplier)
While it was an ugly slate, playing Westbrook gave you a leg up, as he led the slate in raw production prior to the multipliers kicking in.
With LeBron James out, Westbrook dominated the touches and pace of this game, tallying a triple-double made up of 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He added a pair of steals for good measure and finished with 73.43 SuperDraft points after his 1.1x multiplier.
Jalen Brunson, Dallas Mavericks (1.5x)
Brunson’s stock took a hit once Luka Doncic was ruled in, but his 1.5x multiplier still made him a worthwhile play on a short slate. The play came crashing down when Brunson exited the game with a leg injury and never returned. Prior to the injury, he posted four points, two steals, a rebound and an assist in only 11 minutes. Playing Brunson was an unfortunate nail in the coffin for lineups Tuesday.
Julius Randle, New York Knicks (1.15x)
Like Westbrook, Randle was a bright spot on an ugly slate. He helped will the Knicks to an impactful win with a massive 20-point, 16-rebound double-double and added five assists and a steal for good measure.
Finishing with 55.78 points, Randle was one of the best-performing players on the slate with a lower multiplier.
Kristaps Porzingis, Dallas Mavericks (1.35x)
Similar to Brunson, Porzingis’ stock took a bit of a hit with Doncic ruled in, but not enough of a hit to deter from his 1.35x multiplier. Even with Doncic in this season, Porzingis has been more of an impact on offense, having taken at least 20 shots in three straight games that Doncic has played in.
He carried over his strong production, posting 30 points and seven rebounds for 57.04 fantasy points. The only downside was that he was over 61% owned in the Jump Shot tournament, so he provided little edge.
Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons (1.35x)
Cunningham was one of the biggest busts of the night. After three consecutive monster games, he came crashing back down to earth. He registered only six points, six assists, and a trio of rebounds. Even being over 42% owned, Cunningham’s 24.64 fantasy points were enough to sink your lineup. Those that got away with a fade leapfrogged the field.
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets (1x)
Nikola Jokic was ruled out two hours after the slate locked, marking the third consecutive game that the reigning MVP has missed with a wrist injury.
