This article will focus on some of the standout plays from SuperDraft’s exclusive multiplier game mode for Wednesday’s NBA DFS slate. By eliminating the traditional salary cap. structure and providing a points multiplier for every player on the slate, there is almost limitless flexibility when building lineups on SuperDraft. You can load up on all the studs, but their point multipliers will be low. You can balance those plays out with some long shots that could score up to 2x their fantasy points to vault you to the top of the leaderboards.
With 11 games to comb through, let’s get into some of the top plays on SuperDraft.
Guard
De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings (1.25x score multiplier)
With so many games Wednesday, there are a ton of playable options. But with the Kings/Blazers game total being five points higher than the next closest total on the slate, it makes sense to get some exposure to that matchup. Enter Kings fifth-year point guard Fox, who had a noticeable leap in production last season. With pricing on SuperDraft pretty tight to start the year, we can look to Fox with confidence in a matchup that saw him average just over 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists over three meetings last season.
Spencer Dinwiddie, Washington Wizards (1.5x)
The Wizards have been bringing their new backcourt addition along slowly in the preseason coming off an ACL injury. Dinwiddie had developed into a valuable daily fantasy asset in the years prior to his knee troubles. Now, playing second fiddle to Beal in Washington, it should help him regain the value he had in Brooklyn. At this high multiplier, I have a significant interest in rostering Dinwiddie against Toronto. He averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 23.5 minutes per game across four preseason contests. He should have upward of 30 minutes in the opener here making him a great target especially in GPPs.
Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers (1.75x)
If you’re looking for a higher-multiplier play with upside at guard, have confidence in rostering Maxey. Coming into his sophomore season, Maxey suddenly finds himself at the top of a shallow backcourt depth chart. Maxey should get a ton of time in this game with Simmons suspended and Milton injured. The 76’ers are against what should be a below-average defensive team in the Pelicans. He likely won’t be the first option sharing the court with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, but Maxey proved in his rookie season that he can produce at a high rate for fantasy managers. He’s a great way to get some high multipliers into your SuperDraft lineups on this slate.
Forward
Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans (1.2x)
The concerns about Zion Williamson’s health persist, and while that is a bummer for NBA fans, it opens up a ton of opportunity for Ingram to grab a stranglehold on the New Orleans offensive production. Without Williamson on the court last season, Ingram’s usage increased to a sizeable 31.9%. That number included sharing the court with other high usage type players like Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe, who are both gone in favor of Devontae Graham and Tomas Satoransky. Holdovers like Nickeil Alexander-Walker could also gobble up some increased usage, but at this 1.2x multiplier, we should have a lot of confidence in Ingram.
Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls (1.25x)
The new-look Bulls will debut for the masses here. With the uncertainty around how the production will be spread out amongst the crowded Chicago starting five, it seems like SuperDraft has given us a “discount” on LaVine. From the preseason minutes we saw from LaVine, I don’t think we should be worried too much about his production. Even alongside new additions like DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball it shouldn’t be a problem. LaVine went for 22.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game across four preseason appearances and averaged 29 minutes per game in that span. If he gets back up in the 35 minutes per game range now that the regular season is underway, we should grab some shares of LaVine on SuperDraft at this multiplier against Detroit.
Keldon Johnson, San Antonio Spurs (1.7x)
I don’t think that Johnson is a player I would click into my first lineup. However, if I was running multiple shots into some of the big GPPs on SuperDraft I would make sure to get some shares. The Spurs have finally jettisoned LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan, leaving a ton of usage up for grabs. While Dejounte Murray and Derrick White figure to pick up larger roles, don’t forget about the third-year forward from Kentucky. Johnson has the chance to grab a significant role in this Spurs offense. We saw some of that in the preseason over the last few weeks. It was highlighted by a 23-point performance in 26 minutes against Miami. It only took Johnson 13 shots to accumulate his scoring total in that one, showing how efficient he can be when he’s on. Again, he’s not a lock for me on this slate but he fits nicely into the column of value players I’m considering at forward.
Center
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets (1x)
The reigning MVP begins his defense of the top individual award in the NBA here against last year’s Western Conference champs out in Phoenix. Even at his floor 1x multiplier, few players will rival Jokic’s projected output. He continued his statistical dominance throughout the preseason, accumulating massive fantasy point outputs in limited minutes. Now that we’ve reached the games that count, Jokic should have a full minutes load. With the increased time, he’s my top option at the center position, narrowly beating out Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid.
Mo Bamba, Orlando Magic (1.4x)
The center pricing is pretty tight here, with not a lot of standout value plays to be found. You can take the safe floor/ceiling combos of players I mentioned above like Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid. Clearly, I have no problem if you go that direction. But for some big upside, check out Mo Bamba against San Antonio. We expect to see more minutes out of Bamba this year. When you consider he’s always had fantastic rates in terms of fantasy points per minute, there’s plenty of upside. Foul trouble could be a big issue anytime he steps on the court, but when he keeps his hands to himself and gets the minutes Bamba is capable of recording a monster fantasy score. These teams met in the preseason and Bamba put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, and a steal in 27 minutes. I’m not putting in the call for a repeat performance, but the possibility for that kind of production at a 1.4x multiplier puts Bamba squarely in play as a value on SuperDraft Wednesday.
