Week 17 is here and what better way to start the new year than to have a starter sit and ruin your weekend? It would be like 2020 all over again. I’m here to help you with just that by giving you my favorite plays on the weekend to combat the resting studs.

Don’t wait to enter our $50,000 Week 17 NFL Red Zone contest that pays out $10,000 to first!

Mecole Hardman 1.7X / Demarcus Robinson 1.9X

With Patrick Mahomes sitting and Chad Henne getting the start in Week 17, you would expect both Tyreke Hill and Travis Kelce to get some rest as well freeing up the other weapons on the Chiefs’ offense. With an embarrassment of riches, these two speedy wideouts would serve as possible number twos on other teams.

While production has not been friendly to these two, both of them only need one big play to break the slate with their value. Hardman is the safer of the two choices seeing 61% of the snaps last week with a chance to see in the 90% range this weekend against a defense that is ranked 22nd in the league against opposing wide receivers.

Alexander Mattison 1.75X

Yes, this is going to be flat out chalk – but do you want to miss out on a massive performance from a guy with this much value? Mattison is in concussion protocol but it is believed he will suit up Sunday against the woeful Lions – a team that Dalvin Cook racked up 250+ yards and two TDs against in their last meeting.

The way that Detroit has been playing, he will never be out of the game script and figures to have a floor of 20 touches. If you want to pivot, Mike Boone at the same multiplier could have some production as well.

Richie James 1.75X

Why am I trusting a guy who had zero receptions on only one target last week? Because he saw a 91% snap share last Saturday against Arizona. With Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk already ruled out this weekend, James could be featured in a big way against a Seattle defense that has allowed the most targets to wide receivers this season.

He has proven to be explosive posting a yards per reception mark of 16.4 this season and is almost a lock to see 7+ targets. At this multiplier, how can you ignore this? Kendrick Bourne would be another choice, but he will be higher owned and this will be a good chance for you to pivot.
