Sunday’s half of the NFL’s Divisional Round weekend was one of the most exciting two-game slates we’ve ever seen. Let’s see how our DFS suggestions on SuperDraft fared.
Cam Akers, RB, Los Angeles Rams (1.2x score multiplier)
It was a wild Sunday ride for the Rams, as they narrowly escaped Tom Brady with a 30-27 win on the final drive. It was more of a passing showcase for their offense, and Akers struggled to get much going on the ground. On the bright side, he clearly has the backfield job back to himself. Akers received 24 carries to Sony Michel’s 1. But Akers turned his 24 carries into only 48 rushing yards and lost two fumbles. He did catch all three of his targets for 20 yards, but between the fumbles and the lack of a touchdown, it wasn’t a successful play.
Stefon Diggs, WR, Buffalo Bills (1.2x)
Sunday was not the revenge game Stefon Diggs wanted after the Chiefs eliminated the Bills a year ago. It was all about Gabriel Davis and Josh Allen. The game itself was a wild roller-coaster ride, with 25 points scored in the last 2 minutes of regulation and the Bills ultimately falling to the Chiefs in overtime. Diggs wasn’t a big part of the action, though, catching 3 of his 6 targets for only 7 yards. He did add on a successful two-point conversion, but it wasn’t nearly enough for DFS.
Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills (1x)
Allen was by far one of the best plays of this weekend. He connected with Gabriel Davis for four touchdowns Sunday, including two inside the final two minutes of the fourth quarter. Allen completed 27 of his 37 pass attempts for 329 yards and four touchdowns. We know what he can do through the air, but we can’t forget what he can do on the ground — Allen rushed for 68 yards. He was the Buffalo Bills’ main rushing attack as Devin Singletary and Isaiah McKenzie combined for just 41 yards.
Best Plays of the Slate
We already know that Josh Allen was a nightmare for the Kansas City Chiefs as he threw for four touchdowns, but it’s the man who caught all four who warrants more conversation. Gabriel Davis had a huge night, averaging 25.1 yards per reception and totaling 201 receiving yards on eight catches (10 targets). The Chiefs were loaded with top plays as well, as Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce bpth found the end zone. Hill had 11 receptions for 150 yards while Kelce had eight receptions for 96 yards. With such a loaded game between the Bills and Chiefs, even Patrick Mahomes makes his way to the top of the list. He matched the performance of Josh Allen and had three passing touchdowns with a rushing touchdown. He threw for 378 yards on 33 completions (44 attempts).
In the day’s other game, Leonard Fournette (13 carries and 9 receptions for 107 total yards and two touchdowns) and Mike Evans (8-119-1 on 16 targets) both had big games in a losing effort for the Bucs. For the victorious Rams, Cooper Kupp had another huge day. He caught 9 of 11 targets for 183 yards and a score. Matthew Stafford also put up a big day, throwing for 366 yards and 2 touchdowns and adding a score on the ground.
