Week 7’s Thursday night NFL game was as ugly as the expectations had predicted.
Below are my top three SuperDraft DFS picks for the Thursday game and how they performed in this game.
Case Keenum, QB, Cleveland Browns (1.75x score multiplier)
As discussed in the preview piece, it was expected that the Browns would stick to their ground-and-pound mentality and that’s exactly what they did, hampering Keenum’s upside. He was still able to log 199 yards and a touchdown with an additional seven rushing yards, but nothing game-breaking. The beauty of Keenum last night was his 1.75x multiplier, which helped mitigate a rather unimpressive showing. Finishing with 22.16 fantasy points after his multiplier, Keenum was in most winning lineups, showing just how ugly this game was.
D’Ernest Johnson (1.75x)/Demetric Felton (1.95x), RB, Cleveland Browns
The Browns running backs were busy in this game … well, I should say, one of them was. D’Ernest Johnson looked like Nick Chubb Thursday, carrying the ball 22 times for 146 yards and a touchdown while adding a pair of catches for 22 additional yards. With his 1.75x multiplier baked in, he finished with 41.65 fantasy points, a mainstay in winning lineups. His counterpart, Demetric Felton, wasn’t so impressive or so involved. He only logged two carries for 13 yards while adding three catches for 21 yards, totaling 9.56 fantasy points after his 1.95x multiplier kicked in.
Noah Fant, TE, Denver Broncos (1.85x)
Fant was another disappointing piece of this game as the running backs dominated the touches and scoring equity. Fant tied for the team lead with seven targets, but only turned his five grabs into 39 yards with his longest going for only nine yards. Being held out of the end zone, Fant posted 6.4 fantasy points, 11.84 with his 1.85x scoring multiplier.
