Week 3 of the NFL season is almost in the books, and we have wrapped up our 13-game Sunday slate on SuperDraft. Let us dive in and recap how our plays at every position did.
Top quarterbacks
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears (1.7x score multiplier)
What an underwhelming starting debut for Fields against the Cleveland Browns. With basically no offensive protection, Fields was non-existent no matter how hard he tried. Completing just six of his 20 passes, he only threw for 68 yards. He also tried running the ball three times but only went for 12 yards. Underwhelming and disappointing, but I would still trust this rookie quarterback in the future.
Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals (1x)
What a day for the Arizona Cardinals after there was some concern at halftime when the team was down 13-7 with Murray the lone scorer. When the third quarter came around, though, the offense was on full cylinders. While Murray didn’t have any passing touchdowns, he threw for 316 yards. This may be that one rare game where Kyler Murray’s passing display wasn’t the centerpiece, but this won’t be a common occurrence.
Top running backs
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (1.4x)
The rookie put on a receiving clinic Sunday with 19 targets, which almost tied Alvin Kamara’s record for single-game targets for running backs (20, set back in 2018). Harris caught 14 of those with 102 receiving yards but, sadly, no touchdown. On the ground, Harris wasn’t as impressive as he rushed for just 40 yards on 14 carries. Harris is going to play a huge part of this offense as this season keeps moving forward.
Saquon Barkley, New York Giants (1.35x)
The early morning noise of Dalvin Cook being ruled out for the Minnesota Vikings game helped with the ownership of Barkley on a good Sunday. He carried the football 16 times while rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown. Adding on top of that, Barkley had six receptions for 43 yards.
Top wide receivers
Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears (1.7x)
Mooney offered another disappointing Bears performance. I loved the stack of Justin Fields with him, but it was nothing but a disaster. Mooney had just one reception for nine yards — the 1.7x multiplier couldn’t even save it.
Sterling Shepard, New York Giants (1.4x)
The injury bug popped for the Giants Sunday, and Shepard was one who caught it. After having two receptions for 16 yards, Shepard went down with a hamstring injury in the first half, ending his day early. Daniel Jones and Shepard had a hot start to the season, and now it’ll be put on hold.
Top tight ends
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams (1.65x)
We expected Higbee to have a good game, and with the 1.65x multiplier, he did. Now, Matthew Stafford put on an offensive clinic as he threw for four touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. For Higbee, he found himself being one of those endzone finds as he caught five passes for 40 yards and a score. While he had a poor Week 2 outing, Higbee can be a dominant piece in the tight end game.
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders (1.3x)
It’s tough not seeing Waller with double-digit targets, but here we are once again. Waller finished with seven targets, catching five for 54 yards. He once again did not find the end zone. Derek Carr is spreading the football out more, and if that keeps happening, how much faith can we put into Waller being utilized correctly for fantasy football?
